Dr. Muhammad Nasir Aliyu

Dr. Aliyu Muhammad Nasir is a Nigerian academic and accounting specialist affiliated with the Faculty of Administration, Department of Accounting at Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Born on 16th September 1991 in Jos, Plateau State, he is married and hails from Nasarawa State. He began his academic career at the university as a Graduate Assistant in October 2018, was confirmed in October 2020, and currently holds the position of Lecturer II following his promotion in October 2022. His areas of specialization include Financial Accounting and Reporting, Financial Management, and Corporate Governance. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he holds several administrative roles, including Faculty Examination Officer, NSUK Focal Person for the Nigerian Education Repository and Databank (NERD), and Examination Officer at the Entrepreneurship Development Centre.
Dr. Nasir holds a PhD in Accounting from Universiti Utara Malaysia (2025), an MSc in Accounting and Finance (2019), and a BSc in Accounting (2017) from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, as well as a Diploma in Accounting from the University of Jos (2012). His teaching experience spans multiple undergraduate courses such as Financial Management, Research Methodology, Forensic Accounting, Taxation, and Introduction to Accounting. He is an active member of professional bodies including the National Accounting Association and an Associate Member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.
Academically, Dr. Nasir has contributed extensively to research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in both national and international journals, focusing on areas such as corporate governance, intellectual capital, audit committee attributes, and financial performance. He has also presented papers at various conferences and attended several academic gatherings, demonstrating his commitment to continuous professional development.
